I was really confused today. They made me go to school.
Aren’t I on vacation? Sheesh I’m in another country, do I really have to go to class? (Si, necesito Amelia, voy alli para practicar mi español :P)
To everyone but Amelia: sorry about my little notes to her. We’re going to be in Argentina together in a little over a month and she’s jealous that I’m already in South America.
What’s worse… I had to take a test!!! The horrors.
But we didn’t have to go to class afterwards. Instead we went on a tour around the city.
So no classes. They start tomorrow. Please shoot me.
On other cool news, there’s a girl from my university who has been attending this school. Never met her before, recognized the American accent…everyone else is from countries near the Netherlands. And I learned more Dutch. If I spell it how it is pronounced- Hut Chat Het : How are you? Hut : good. YAY being multi-lingual.
After getting lost, getting to lunch late. By the way, lunch is awesome. It’s the biggest meal of the day and my host mother makes a delicious soup to start, then continue with some type of starch and vegetables, we had this pumpkin curry type thing today. IT WAS SO GOOD. I want to bring her home with me…or maybe I’ll just ask her to teach me or give me the recipe.
I got to explore more of the city today. Found a book fair. Uh-oh there goes all my money. I restrained myself and only bought two books. I mean who can resist buying Harry Potter in multiple languages? I’m crazy, I can buy all these beautiful clothes, but I buy books.
It keeps getting worse for my wallet. I found not one- but two chocolate museums. Marie, my roomie who is actually reading my blog as I’m writing it, hi Marie, you’re awesome, so glad we’re roommates, humored me and we went into one. I got chocolate milk. HEY I was thirsty!!! Don’t worry I’m going to go back. The chocolate was so good and rich and wonderful and I’m NOT sharing!!!! Don’t even ask…
P.S. My host father made a Jew joke. I got a good host family.
