Well…it was the plan to go up Cerro Catedral, but once it was learned that it was a 4 hour hike to get up there, not to mention the time to get down…even if we were to take the chair lift, that’s still quite a bit of time. And Wes had to leave.
But we didn’t do Campanario yet. So hey, what the hell. It was supposedly a short hike 20-40 minutes depending on how fast you went and the short hike provided you with a great view.
So….I hadn’t exactly done much exercise recently. I mean I walk around the city a lot, but then eat ice cream. I have an hour long walk to class and to return from class. But..well still ice cream and alfajores. And then criollos. It really should not have been a surprise to have the burn in my leg and me thinking, shit, I can’t keep up with him. Then again I’m not very good at pushing myself.
Yup just kept telling myself it’s for the view at the top. And the wonderful feeling you get when you know you just climbed up a mountain.
But at the very least there was a cafe at the top where I got myself an alcoholic hot chocolate an some post cards. I keep meaning on sending some out…oops.
So as we were heading down, two dogs got it in their heads to follow us
Wes wasn’t too happy with them coming along, especially since they kept getting in the way and it was a concern that they would try to stop, slide, hit into us and we’d all go tumbling down. But I thought they were kinda cute. It was funny when they were fighting/playing with each other.
Definitely not a grueling hike. Just a disappointing view at the stop. There are pictures of the surrounding view on boards to tell the viewer what they are looking at. The pictures looked gorgeous.
Then again, it wasn’t too bad, maybe I’ll just have to come again, another day, a nicer day, to get that view.
